My Journey
Early Years and Adaptation
My journey began with constant movement, as I attended five different primary schools in as many years. For some children, such upheaval might have been unsettling, but for me, it became an unexpected training ground. I quickly learned how to adapt, to read people and situations swiftly, and to find my place wherever I landed. These early experiences were fundamental, instilling in me a resilience that would later become essential.
A Life-Altering Event
At fifteen, everything changed. An accident left me quadriplegic, and the world I knew suddenly became unfamiliar and challenging. The subsequent years became a period of intense rehabilitation—slow, demanding, and often frustrating, yet ultimately transformative. Through this process, I rebuilt myself not only physically but also mentally. I developed discipline, patience, and a fierce determination born from the necessity of beginning anew.
Education and Character Development
After rehabilitation, I returned to my studies with renewed purpose. I completed my schooling at Geelong Grammar, participating in the Timbertop program in Victoria’s high country. Timbertop is renowned for shaping character, and it certainly did so for me—sometimes in unexpected ways.
One memorable incident was my suspension for an unauthorised visit to the girls’ dormitory, a story that still brings laughter and serves as a reminder that even in serious times, a bit of mischief can be important.
Academic Achievements
Education became a central pillar in my life. I earned undergraduate degrees in Law and Commerce at Deakin University, followed by a Master of Applied Finance at the University of Melbourne. Keen to push further, I pursued and achieved the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation—one of the world’s most respected and rigorous qualifications in finance. This achievement remains one of my proudest professional milestones.
Professional Career
Clayton Utz
I began my legal career as a solicitor at Clayton Utz, one of Australia’s premier law firms. During my tenure, I was exposed to a wide range of complex legal matters, including corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, and commercial litigation. Working at Clayton Utz provided me with invaluable experience, allowing me to develop my skills alongside some of the country’s finest legal minds.
Private Practice
Following my time at Clayton Utz, I established my own legal practice to provide tailored legal services to clients across various industries. My practice focused on advising entrepreneurs, startups, and established businesses on legal structures, investment strategies, and capital raising initiatives. By combining my legal expertise with my background in finance, I was able to offer clients a comprehensive service that addressed both legal and financial considerations.
Integrated Legal & Financial Expertise
My dual qualifications in finance and law enabled me to offer a unique perspective to clients navigating complex financial and legal landscapes. I advised on matters involving private equity, venture capital, and corporate governance, ensuring that clients received integrated advice that aligned with both legal requirements and financial objectives.
Throughout my career, I remained committed to delivering high-quality, commercially sound legal advice. Whether working within a large firm or running my own practice, I consistently focused on building long-term client relationships, understanding their business goals, and providing strategic guidance that supported sustainable growth and compliance.
A New Chapter
Life has a way of redirecting us when we least expect it. After building a successful career in law and finance, I faced another profound challenge: a brain injury that kept me sidelined for two years. It was a difficult period—one that tested the same resilience I had developed as a teenager recovering from quadriplegia.
With time, patience, and a fair bit of determination, I moved beyond that injury. While it marked the end of my professional practice, it opened the door to a quieter, more reflective chapter of life—one focused on the things that truly matter.
Life Today
These days, I live with my sister in Grovedale, enjoying a quieter chapter of life filled with simpler pleasures that bring me genuine joy. My world has become smaller in some ways, but richer in others.
Backyard Sanctuary
My backyard has become a small sanctuary, regularly visited by flocks of cockatoos, rainbow lorikeets, magpies, and even the occasional wandering ibis. Watching them brings me peace.
The Garden
I tend a vegetable garden that I proudly begin each Grand Final Eve. This year it rewarded me handsomely: an astonishing haul of cucumbers from a single blue seed and a row of towering sunflowers that dominated the yard.
Windsor Hotel
I enjoy my outings to the Windsor Hotel, where the ritual, the atmosphere, and the brush with old-world elegance give me a quiet thrill. There’s something about being surrounded by polished timber, crisp linen, and confident people that I can’t help but enjoy.
The Cats & A Legend
A favourite pastime of mine has always been cheering for the Geelong Football Club, where the roar of the crowd and the thrill of the game stitched themselves into my soul. Three decades ago, fate smiled upon me when I met the legendary Gary Ablett, a man whose presence on and off the field was nothing short of electric. He brought along his young sons, Nathan and Gary Jr., their eyes already gleaming with promise.
We spoke of many things, but it was his love for spotlighting that truly surprised me, revealing a quieter, wilder side of the man known as ‘God’ to the fans. That connection led to a surreal moment – Gary attending my 21st birthday party, held in the humble beginnings of my newly purchased home in Torquay.
The walls were bare, the paint chipped, but the night was rich with laughter and stories. Gary mingled with ease, turning my modest celebration into a night of legend. In the years that followed, I poured myself into renovating that house, each improvement echoing the magic of that unforgettable evening.
I take real pride in these small triumphs. After a lifetime of challenges—physical rehabilitation, professional achievement, and personal setbacks—I've learned to appreciate the beauty in simplicity.
Why One Nation
With this newfound time and clarity, I’ve been able to focus on something that has always mattered deeply to me: Australia itself. My Australian identity is more than a matter of birth—it is a deep passion. I believe in Australia, its people, and the unique values that define our nation.
I genuinely support Pauline Hanson’s policies because they reinforce Australia’s sovereignty, fairness, and national pride—principles I hold close to my heart. Whether others agree with me or not, I stand by my convictions, shaped by a lifetime of challenges, resilience, and a profound love for my country.
This website is my passion project—my way of channeling my energy into something meaningful. I want Australians to feel fiercely proud—parochial even—about the land we all share. This is my platform to share that passion and invite you to join me in supporting a vision for Australia that puts our nation first.
